With St. Patrick’s Day upon us, I’ve been thinking about an often overlooked private event venue, the Irish Pub. Maybe I’m biased, I was the Director of Events for a well-known Irish Pub chain for years, but I truly believe the Irish pub is the perfect place to host events of all shapes and sizes. Here’s why.
I mean, come on, Irish pub’s ooze character. It’s quite literally plastered on the walls. Photos of poets, and laureates next to those of perfectly poured Guinness’. Not to mention the beautiful wood bars with copper and tin metal details, surrounded by warm lighting and cozy seating. Magnificently worn gold bar taps with years of stories to tell - the Irish pub is full of legacy and a feeling of being home. I can’t think of a better place to welcome friends and family.

When I say warmth I’m not just speaking of the decor, but also the people. Irish pubs tend to have super friendly staff who actually love what they do. The most fun I’ve ever had working in a restaurant was one hundred percent my time working in Irish pubs. There’s something about them that just makes you smile. It’s not just the Guinness, I promise.
Whatever you hope to commemorate with your private event booking, remember that the Irish tradition is built on authenticity, warmth, and making sure everyone has a great time. If you want your event to reflect all of those things, an Irish pub is a venue choice you won’t regret.
