How To Find The Right Location For Prom

Planning Prom is quite the daunting task. So much goes into it! The date and time, food, theme, photography, transportation, entertainment, and last but certainly not least, the location. Some may argue that the venue is absolutely the most important part of a Prom. So, if you're planning Prom, we understand that you're probably under a lot of pressure, and definitely under mass amounts of stress. We're here to help! Here are some tips on how to find the right location for Prom.

How many people? You have to think about how many people your location has to hold. If you're expecting 900+, a night club probably isn't your best option. But, if you're expecting 100, don't look for the biggest and most expensive venue out there. Communicate with the venue owners, and ask them approximately how many people their venue holds. You don't want it to be too crowded or completely empty!

How far? It's important that you stay fairly close to the school that is hosting the Prom. Most people will use alternative forms of transportation with large groups, but it can still be a hassle to travel more than 20 miles or so. Don't stay too close to the school though! A 5-10 minute drive to the location won't be much fun, and it won't be as special as it can be if it's a little farther! Prom is special. So make it special for the students with a fabulous location!

What's it like? Is it outdoors? Do you live in a cold area, where people might want to be indoors? Is it in the middle of a city where it might be loud, or is it in a quiet town? Make sure that you ask yourself these questions when you're looking at venues, because the organization of the venue is key. You want to make sure that you have a place for people to sit, a place for people to dance, a place for photography, and a place to announce Prom King and Queen. Think of absolutely everything that you can possibly think of before booking the venue! You don't want to disappoint!
