Spring Baby Shower Planning Guide

Spring is a great season for all types of parties, but it is especially amazing for baby showers. With flowers blossoming left and right and the sun finally making an appearance, the season’s representation of new beginnings and life is the perfect setting for a baby shower. If you are planning to have a baby shower this spring, consider these helpful tips and suggestions:

Theme:
Themes can sometimes be a double-edged sword when it comes to baby showers. If you choose a too narrow theme, you may be looking at getting forty gifts involving only ducks or only choo-choo trains. A spring themed baby shower may be perfect because you will still get the adorable spring-related designs, such as flowers, ducks, blue skies, and more, but you won’t risk the chance of getting cookie cutter designs on every present. It will also help with the decorations and snacks.

Location:

The event location for a spring baby shower can really be anywhere given the season. Since spring is known for its flowers and nice weather, consider having your baby shower outside, such as a picnic setting. Whether you have a backyard that can accommodate people or you rent out a venue that has outdoor seating, the lovely springtime will help with your theme and add natural decorations.

Menu:
If you are hosting the baby shower at your house or in a public space, such as a park, finger foods and fresh fruits are perfect for the occasion  Refreshing drinks, such as fruit infused water, are perfect, especially since the mother-to-be cannot drink alcohol. If you are hosting your party at a restaurant, check with the event location prior to bringing in or arranging your own menu, as they may have their own chef or a pre-selected menu. Regardless, spring time desserts, such as these flower cupcakes, are always a crowd-pleaser at baby showers.

Games:
No baby shower is complete without the games. With this theme, try incorporating spring concepts into your games, such as adding spring words to baby bingo cards. Also, the famous baby shower game where no one is allowed to say the word 'baby' or any similar word is a guaranteed good time. If your guests are more hands on, you can also opt for a guessing contest, where your guests will be blindfolded and have to guess what various baby items are by the way they feel.

Decorations:

The best part about having a baby shower in the spring is that the weather does your decorating. If you are hosting the party outside, you merely need banners and table decorations. If your party is inside, opt for spring colors, that can even coincide with the sex of the baby, and vases full of flowers. With the help of nature, your baby shower will be blossoming with color and character.
