Looking for unique wedding spots in Los Angeles? We have three suggestions for you, each offering a distinct experience.
1. ASLA Cultural Center
First up: the ASLA Cultural Center (that’s the Armenian Society of Los Angeles). By way of background, ASLA was established in 1956 as a non-profit, cultural institution to preserve and develop the American and Armenian culture and traditions promoting good citizenship in the United States. Today, ASLA has more than 1,500 active members and is involved in cultural, humanitarian, and educational activities based in Glendale, California.
As a reflection of this rich history, ASLA’s headquarters are stunning, and a classic option to host your grand wedding. The venue is not lacking for space. For example, the Grand Foyer accommodates 150 guests, the Ludovi Ballroom holds 450 guests, and the ASLA’s Library — a center for scholars and readers to congregate and debate, and featuring an extensive collection of books in the Armenian language, as well as English and Farsi Language books — offers a more intimate space.
2. The Fig House
Speaking of intimate, next up is The Fig House, a bespoke event venue nestled between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena, in the heart of burgeoning Highland Park. The Fig House is an indoor/outdoor event venue that transports you to a place where midcentury California meets lush landscaping, and modern glamour. The Fig House is another project from the Hospitality Collaborative, founded with the singular vision of hospitality as an invitation to connect with your guests and have a memorable experience. The Fig House is a contemporary spin on Art Deco with a nod to the rich history of Highland Park. The stained glass windows are a tribute to Hollywood glamour native to LA, and the paint and wallpaper exhibit bold, rich colors that contribute to the design.
The Fig House really puts the “art” in “Art Deco.” By that, we mean that they regularly feature rotating art exhibits. And the Fig House’s outdoor garden — a work of art in itself — features the perfect space for outdoor weddings. The Fig House is transformable, and presents a unique point of view, by way of design, to exist as-is or to be specifically curated by clients to meet the aesthetic of any nuptial. Size-wise, the Fig House can accommodate parties of up to 250 guests for a seated dinner and up to 450 guests for standing cocktail receptions. Its layout also offers the unique ability to allow an intimate ambiance for smaller parties of under 100 guests.
3. The Automobile Driving Museum
And last but not least, we give you the Automobile Driving Museum. Centrally-located in the South Bay beach community of El Segundo, the ADM offers a truly unique wedding venue conveniently located just 5 minutes south of Los Angeles International Airport.
The 610 Lairport space has a vintage feel, surrounded by an impressive primary automobile collection. The ADM offers several different venues inside and outside the facility for diverse wedding-related events.
Choose from the Packard Ballroom (250 guests), the museum floor (parties of 300 or more), and even the 1950s-themed Ice Cream Parlor (perfect for smaller groups of 40 or less). The ADM offers some truly unique experiences, including photo opportunities in vintage cars, and a customizable marquee with a retro yellow flashing sign.
No matter your tastes — grand, Art Deco, or automotive-inspired — each of these LA venues promises a wedding to remember.
