The 6 Best Wedding After Party Venues in NYC

Trends may come and go—but we’re confident that wedding after parties is a trend that is here to stay

After all, weddings take months (or even years) to plan—and then those precious hours fly by! It’s no surprise that wedding hosts are looking to find a way to extend the fun. Even better, after parties also tend to be more relaxed and casual, so you have space to really let loose once the main festivities are over.

If you’re planning a NYC wedding, don’t worry. Plenty of New York City bars and event spaces work perfectly as fun and affordable wedding after-party venues. We rounded up our six favorites throughout various neighborhoods in NYC. Take a look to get inspiration for your post-reception rager.

1. Maggie’s Place

Neighborhood: Midtown

For good reason, the classic Irish pub, Maggie’s Place, is at the top of our list. As the oldest family-owned restaurant & bar in the Midtown area, your guests will enjoy a laidback and friendly atmosphere at Maggie's Place.

You can do a full buyout for up to 175 people or a simple full or half mezzanine buyout (for 50 - 100 people) and enjoy a full-service bar, dance floor, TVs, and AV capabilities to customize the space to your liking.

The drinks are strong and refreshing, like “Meet Me at Maggie’s” with vodka, lemon juice, Fever-Tree grapefruit soda, and club soda. Food is perfect for late-night snacks like crispy mozzarella skewers, scotch eggs, and flatbreads. Maggie’s is a sure-fire afterparty hit.

2. Sour Mouse

Neighborhood: Lower East Side

After a full night of dancing, Sour Mouse offers a welcome change of pace. This is the perfect place to share a few late-night pints of beer and pizzas pie, and a lively tavern with billiards, ping pong, and foosball.

The space is a massive 6,000 square feet with art-filled walls and an onsite DJ, so you and your guests will have plenty of space to enjoy your last hurrah.

3. Studio 23

Neighborhood: Flatiron District

For a real NYC club afterparty, it will be hard to do better than Studio 23. Entering the space, you’ll immediately enjoy the quintessential New York loft feel with high wood beam ceilings, exposed brick, and an open floor plan.

The space is made more striking with huge Warhol-inspired pop art, color-responsive Hue lights, air hockey, and table tennis. For guests whose feet need a break, you’ll find plenty of lounge space with 25 comfy couches and even 2 hanging swings.

A night at Studio 23 gives you access to a bartender, bar back, reception/coat check, door person, and security so you and your guests will feel the full club vibe. Bar packages are available, or you can opt for BYOB.

4. Tavern29

Neighborhood: Murray Hill

Let’s get real: Nothing really beats a rooftop afterparty. This is why Tavern29 might be the ideal space for your post-reception party. This classic American tavern, located right on Park Avenue, has all the charm of a 19th-century converted townhouse.

With a distinct German Biergarten feel plus American comfort grub, your guests can enjoy 34 draft lines plus sliders, pizzas, or cheese boards. Tavern29 is a clear crowd-pleaser.

5. The Farm Soho Rooftop

Neighborhood: Soho

Here’s another rooftop option for you, this one in trendy Soho. What we love about The Farm Soho Rooftop is it feels like your best friend’s rooftop… if your friend lived in an impeccably renovated Little Italy landmark.

The fully furnished space is more intimate and hosts 50 people. You’ll have access to a built-in bar and bartender, lounge seating, tables, and a Bose Keynote sound system. This is the perfect place to unwind from the big day and get a little more partying and chatting in with your close friends.

6. 74Wythe

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

If you’re hosting a Brooklyn-based wedding, 74Wythe is an extremely versatile space for your after-party. Yes, there is a rooftop overlooking the water and Manhattan skyline. Even better, this rooftop works with a retractable glass enclosure, no matter the time of year.

You're in luck if you prefer a speakeasy vibe over a rooftop. The JBird Cocktails Lounge is at the ready to host up to 80 guests for a nightcap or two. Whatever your vision, 74Wythe will rise to the occasion.

Ready to get your after-party on?

After countless hours of wedding planning, you deserve the last hurrah worthy of your efforts. NYC has plenty of options for a fun-filled after-party. The options are endless, from divey taverns, dramatic rooftops, game-filled warehouses, and sultry speakeasies. Just try to choose a venue close to the main event so your guests don’t have to make a big trek in the early morning hours.
