5 Scary Halloween Cocktail Recipes

Are you planning on hosting a Halloween party or small get-together? Want to impress your friends with a new and spooky cocktail? Check out these five festive Halloween cocktail recipes that our in-house mixologist, Jame DeFayette, crafted, that are sure to get the party started!

Halloween Sangria

This my classic Fall Sangria go to. Although some Sangria recipes do well after a few days of “marinating”. This is a bright and light Red or White version with a quick razzberry syrup addition for a bloody effect.

*Prep ahead* Put a couple of cups of preferred skinned and sliced stone fruit (plum, peach, etc.), cinnamon stick, and a bottle of Brandy in a food-safe container for 24-48 hours. Strain and toss fruit.

Add to a mixer with ice:

  • 4ozs of Red or White wine
  • 1oz of Stone Fruit Brandy
  • .5 oz Orange liquor
  • Splash of sour mix
  • Splash Apple Juice
  • Splash of white cranberry juice
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

-Shake and strain over ice in a large wine or pint glass

-Top off with a splash of Ginger ale

-Around the inside of rim with a drizzle raspberry sauce

Pumpkin King Espresso-Tini

A crowd-pleaser Espresso Tini recipe with some Pumpkin love added in.

Add to a mixer with ice:

  • 2oz Vanilla Vodka
  • .5 oz Coffee Liquor
  • .5 oz Amaretto
  • .5 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup or Liquor
  • Chilled Espresso or Coffee
  • Optional: a splash of Irish cream

Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass

Top with a dollop of fresh whipped cream, 3 coffee beans, and Candy corn* stuck on top of the whipped cream.

*Remove and toss candy corn before consumption because they are disgusting.

Rummy Worm Jell-O Shots

This is an adult dessert with some added creepy crawlers. Consume too many of these and you WILL turn into a Zombie.

Following the basic Jell-O recipe (I prefer Razzberry for the gory effect), you will replace the cold water with chilled White Rum and you will replace the hot water with a 3-way mix of Sour mix, cranberry juice, and apple juice.

Pour into individual containers or molds and add a halved gummy worm in each. Serve chilled.

Caramel Apple Tini

The Haunting thing about this drink is how annoying and popular Apple-tinis were in the ’90s. I only bring it back to life this time of year for fun.

In a shaker with ice add:

  •  3 oz of Vodka
  • .5oz of Apple Pucker liquor
  • .5oz of Butterscotch liqueur
  • Splash of Apple Cider

Strain into a caramel rimmed martini glass and garnish with an apple slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Spiked Hot Cider

Nothing Spooky about this one. It’s just awesome and works with whatever your liquor you happen to have one hand.

In a slow cooker add Apple Cider, orange slices, Mulling Spices, and cinnamon sticks and simmer on low heat for at least an hour. The longer you let this mixture simmer, the more vibrant the fall flavors will infuse in the cider.

In a mug add your preferred dose of preferred poison.  Bourbon, spiced rum and whiskey are my favorites to use. Top with hot mulled cider and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Happy Halloween!
