Nothing makes a party come together like a theme. Themes can help elevate your party to the next level and get your guests excited for your soiree. Committing to a theme will help you tie all your different party elements together; from decor and music to attire and food, plus it’s fun! We’ve compiled a list of different events and themes to help get you started planning your next party!
Birthday Party Themes
Planning your next birthday party? Popular themes are decades and the age you are turning if you are an adult, and for kids whatever they are into, dinosaurs, princesses, superheroes - you name it!

Bachelorette Party Themes
Not your mother’s bachelorette party - these parties are now weekend-long getaways, and themes make them more fun! Having a theme at your bachelorette will help with decor, custom t-shirts, and even can aid in finding the perfect location. Popular ones are “Wigging Out” (where everyone wears a different wig), “Nash Bash” (can you guess where this takes place?), and a more traditional “Last Fling Before the Ring”.

Bridal Shower Themes
Bridal showers can seem boring and stuffy - unless there is a theme, then they are fun and exciting! Get your guests ready to celebrate the bride by having a bridal shower theme - this will also help with designing the invites, color scheme, and even help inspire a drink menu or fun games to play!
Holiday Themed Parties
Themes for holiday parties are a no-brainer - lean into whatever holiday it is! You can do this with the color scheme, food, decor, and attire. Valentine's day party? Think red and pink! St. Patrick's day - shamrocks and green beer. Everyone loves fun holiday traditions!

Baby Shower Themes
When planning a baby shower it was traditional to plan around the gender of the baby, with pink decor for girls and blue decor for boys - but we have upped our baby shower game and the themes have become more gender-neutral, and fun! Themes for baby showers usually revolve around baby animals (like ducks, or dinosaurs) or popular kid interests - like cowboys or mermaids.
Gala/Reception Themes
If you are planning a more formal event you might think that a theme wouldn’t fit in - but you would be wrong. Lots of galas or receptions have themes and they tend to revolve around a more formal attire - a black-tie gala, for instance, could have a casino royale theme, or a great gatsby theme.
Wedding/Anniversary Themes
We all can assume the theme of a wedding is love, right? But we can do better than that - weddings with themes can be a lot of fun and can center around the date you are getting married - for instance, getting married near Halloween? Have your wedding be spookier than normal! New Year's Eve wedding? Lots of opportunity to there to be confetti and a ball drop. Don’t forget to celebrate those milestone anniversaries either! Consider theming the party after the traditional gift for that year (a 50th-anniversary party could be “Gold” for instance).
